JOB SUMMARY
Mother Nation is an Indigenous led non-profit organization offering culturally informed healing services, mobile advocacy, mentorship, homeless, and homelessness prevention case management and support to MMIWP families unmet needs. Our services celebrate and inspire the success of Native American women. Mother Nation services are custom designed to honor the beauty and strength of Native women, with traditional practices, teachings and values built on the ancestral strength of each participant. Mother Nation is committed to always provide culturally based traditional teachings throughout all service areas.
Mother Nation is active in supporting local grassroots leadership such as Missing and Murdered Indigenous People, Sister Native Homeless Providers, Tribes and Non-Native agencies to build unity in providing safety to Indigenous women and homeless families. Our goals are to ensure healing and wellness with cultural resilience offering quality service to change the dynamics of Native women and families from the impacts of historical and intergenerational trauma. Primary services are to stop the violence against Native women through culturally informed healing services, mobile advocacy and homeless emergency support.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Finance Specialist will perform administrative duties to support the Finance Department.
JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for compiling and tracking expense receipts and doing entries into QuickBooks.
- Prepare and review invoices for accuracy and compliance with grant contracts.
- Monitor expenditures and provide analysis and reports for program managers.
- Review account reconciliations and correct journal entries.
- Perform data and financial analysis for program and management.
- Assist the Finance Manager and others with special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field is preferred, but not required with additional experience.
Two to four years of experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping, including processing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
An equivalent combination of experience, education, and training may be substituted that would provide the required level of knowledge and ability to perform the position’s essential duties and responsibilities.
- Experience in performing accounts receivable.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Well organized and pays great attention to detail.
- Ability to use professional judgment to solve problems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Self-starter with a positive can-do attitude.
- Experience working with QuickBooks.
